Scaled one of the first national round up donation campaigns with over 1,000 small businesses and dozens of top rated charities like Donorschoose.org, the World Food Program, and Habitat for Humanity.
Often called "Amazon Smile for Everyone Else," Pennies 4 Progress was one of our first projects while students at NC State University. Even though we were just students, we scaled into a national scale fundraising platform.
Collecting tiny donations at scale required a simple giving experience.
Businesses using our round up software needed an easy way to select from vetted organizations. We built relationships with dozens of top rated charities and allowed businesses to fundraise for their local schools with an integration and partnership with DonorsChoose.org. That partnership allowed thousands of businesses to raise money for over 60,000 schools across the United States.
Everything with Pennies 4 Progress was built with less than $50,000 in grant funding from NC State University, the Institute for Emerging Issues, the State Employee's Credit Union, and a foundation supporting social entrepreneurs affiliated with Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Muhammad Yunus, considered the father of micro-finance.
Getting distribution is key to any startups success. We worked with the top e-commerce and point-of-sale platforms to work with the tools already used by small businesses.
