Our Track Record

Technology is a powerful force for good. We unlock its potential to make a difference.

Feeding Thousands.
Breaking World Records.

North Carolina is one of the most food insecure states in the county. We helped set a new Guinness World Record for the largest food drive in 24 hours at a single location. In 2011, we raised 559,885 pounds of food to benefit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC. Over a three year period, we raised over one million pounds of food for North Carolina families. We still hold the world record so if you're reading this please try to break it!

Beating Covid.
One Stimulus Check at a Time

During the pandemic, PledgeMyCheck.org built a national movement to encourage financially stable people to donate some or all of their stimulus checks directly to people in need. Neighbors helped neighbors get through the pandemic providing direct cash assistance to help people buy food, stay in their homes, and stay safe. In just a few weeks, people in 42 states raised over $300,000 in direct aid.

Helping 30,000 People Land Their Dream Job

Employee referrals are the #1 way to get hired. EmployUs was founded to help people land their dream job. Over 30,000 people got hired on our platform across hundreds of employers like Delta Air Lines, Chick-fil-A, and the YMCA. EmployUs was named a "Top Startup to Watch" by NC TECH, had raised $1.5M in venture capital funding, and was acquired by Hireology in the summer of 2021. Ryan served as the founder and CEO of EmployUs since launching it as a student at NC State through its acquisition.

Who is Ryan O'Donnell?

Ryan is the founder of RPO Ventures. He brings over a decade of experience launching and scale for-profit and non-profit start-ups. Connect with Ryan on LinkedIn here.

Are you actively funding projects?

We don't take a one size fits all approach but we tend to bring our own money to the table or help you fundraise. We like to rollup our sleeves and get involved too. If you have something that is worth talking about, please reach out.

What types of projects do you work on?

We fund and incubate projects where we can use our expertise to move the needle. Generally, this means we focus on tech for good projects or non-profits working in the child welfare system or projects involved on improving people's access to housing, employment, food, or financial services.

Is RPO Ventures hiring or can you help me find a job?

RPO Ventures is just incubating and investing in a variety of projects so we're not hiring for ourselves. We can help you get connected to one of our projects or partners so if you''re looking to make an impact with your career, please reach out.

Where does RPO Ventures operate?

RPO Ventures is based out of Raleigh, NC but we work across the United States. If you're local, let's grab coffee. We aren't involved in any international projects and do not have any plans to do so.

Can you help me with my organization?

Ryan O'Donnell has served on numerous boards public institutions and private organizations (for profit and non-profit). He consults organizations on an informal basis too. Learn more about board involvement here.
